Where’s Beauty? I urge you—be an activist! Go searching for Beauty now! Why do I say this?

It’s easy to find Beauty in a flower, a sunset, or in a work of art, but how often do you find Beauty where you don’t expect it to be?

I’d like to make a case for actively searching for Beauty, even treat it like a personal scavenger hunt; in fact, you might even call out Beauty’s name.

For Beauty can lurk, remain hidden, or pop up in endless disguises, but when it becomes visible, it speaks loud and clear.

In my podcast episode, Where’s Beauty, I share stories of how Beauty shows up and makes a surprise appearance, often in the most unlikely of places and ways.

But you can be proactive and look for Beauty in all situations. The pay-off? This acts like a touch of magic. You yourself become a powerful seer, and you perceive more Beauty than ever before.

I ask a series of questions in my podcast episode, and I’m going to repeat them here. These are key questions that we all can ask ourselves, especially during this pandemic, during this financial crisis, this job loss crisis, and during any pivotal moment in time.

I invite you to spend a moment with these questions now.

Where’s beauty in my life, that I never expected it to be?

Where’s beauty in the toughest of times?

Where’s beauty when I’m feeling all alone?

Do I see experiencing beauty as a luxury, or is it an essential in my life?

And I’ll add:
What does beauty mean to me now, and how does it show up?

I like what the poet and artist Kahlil Gibran says about beauty in his book, The Prophet. in particular: “Beauty is not in the face; beauty is a light in the heart.”

In these insanely challenging times, who doesn’t need more Beauty?

So I say—go off on a scavenger hunt!

Go looking for Beauty!

And when you find it, I urge you—celebrate!

Know that you’re a part of Beauty too.
